Our history

Jennifer Zerk Consulting (formerly known as CSR Vision) was formed in 2003 and is one of the few consulting firms specialising in CSR and the law. Over the years we have built up a solid reputation for high quality legal research, teaching, report-writing and comment. We have worked for a wide range of clients, including law firms, UN agencies, NGOs, academic institutions, construction companies, telecommunications companies, international organisations and think tanks. This work has covered many different law-related topics, including regulatory design and analysis, company law, social and environmental reporting, trade practices regulation, international law and policy, business and human rights, legal frameworks for multi-stakeholder initiatives and the role of the legal profession in CSR.

Jennifer Zerk (Principal) is a leading expert on law and CSR. With an international reputation, particularly in the field of business and human rights, she is a respected and sought-after consultant, researcher, commentator and speaker. She has advised on several significant law reform initiatives, including the International Commission of Jurists work on Corporate Complicity in International Crimes, and as part of a series of roundtables of legal experts advising Professor John Ruggie in his capacity as UNSG Special Representative on Business and Human Rights. She is a regular contributor and adviser in relation to UK government policy initiatives and consultations in the business and human rights field. This has included appearing as a witness in the UK Parliamentary Joint Committee on Human Rights 2009 inquiry into human rights and the UK private sector. She holds a Masters in Law from the University of London and a PhD from the University of Cambridge .

Multinationals and corporate responsibilityDr Zerk is the author of "Multinationals and Corporate Social Responsibility" (Cambridge University Press, 2006), the first book-length exploration of the international law context for CSR.
